Film Review: ‪‎Jawani Phir Nahi Ani‬ is more than just a good laugh!

Pakistani film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani‬ is releasing on this Eid ul Azha. Here we are sharing a detailed and short review about the film.

Yes it's a barrel of laughs, a laugh a minute, but ‪‎Jawani Phir Nahi Ani‬ is more than just a good laugh. It very cleverly also takes the piss out of today's popular westernized selfie culture, without being preachy or moral policing.
We recognise ourselves and others and we are forced to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. From political innuendoes, to the glamour of our fashion industry, even the actors acting in the film are not spared as Hamza Abbasi hears a wise crack on his Famous Status Updates, Mehvish Hyatt hears Ismail Tara yell to he henchmen, "apni behen samajh ke uthana Mehvish Hayat Nahi!" Humayun Saeed looks baffled when he is referred to as a "boy" and when his body is compared to Salman Khans he looks inside his shirt and sees more "Younis Khan" action there.
Ahmad Ali Butt, my fav hero of all time now, constantly laughs at himself.
Even Vasay takes a few digs on himself.

From pseudo modernism, materialism, to the Taliban, to the appropriating of different cultures (The Wannabes), the epidemic of shoda culture, to the institution of marriage, and langoTiyaa dostis, from Punjab to Pukhtunkhwa, Buddhism to Saudi Sheikhs, Vasay Chaudhrys dangerously eagle eye misses nothing. This film really is ironic humour at its most intelligent best.
In a world where we need more tolerance, we need to laugh at ourselves more and fight out self important single visioned bigotry, JPNA is a breath of fresh air.
You see, Jawani Phir Nahi Aani reminds you of one of Pakistan's most blessed gifts, the capacity of Pakistanis to laugh at themselves.
To find the joke in any and every given situation. The secret to our "resilience".
May we always have the self confidence to do this and never take our selves so seriously that our egos come in between being able to see the ridiculous, the fun, the irony in our own lives smile emoticon
Jeevay Pakistan!
Huge Fan of JPNA and Vasay Ch. Also whoever cast this film cast a filming coup. Comic genius galore!

Short Review : The film is a great dose of laughter, no doubt some of the punch lines were penned down brilliantly by Vasay Chaudhry. Humayun Saeed played his best role in the film, his role was up to the mark, Hamza Ali Abbasi did great acting with his honest expressions, and rest of the cast did justice with their roles, specially Ismail Tara. However, there were few things which shouldn't have been in the film, some inappropriate lines and double meaning jokes, and highly unethical song and scenes which kept showing some women in bikini (don't know how our censor board cleared it), the film seems little inspired from Bollywood, the story was partially from Masti (Indian film).
Overall as a comedy movie, we will rate it 7/10. #‎JPNA‬
